Hats off to Ladies Day at Owlerton
Sheffield was at its most glamorous and generous last week for a charity Ladies Day at Hillsborough’s Owlerton Stadium.
The popular racecourse venue brought together guests including retired football referee and Hallam FC president Uriah Rennie to raise over £6,000 for Weston Park Hospital. Yorkshire's ladies showed off their creative side with guests modelling customised dresses and hats as they bid to scoop the prestigious 'Best Hat' and 'Best Dressed' titles. A competitive catwalk, judged by Eurovision twins Francine and Nicola, saw Faith Douglas claim the prize for top hat with a vertically daring floral number, while Lia Emmerson walked away with the title 'Best Dressed' in a dress she bought that very afternoon.
Other highlights from the evening included a range of fashion & beauty stalls, a prize raffle and a charity auction. John Gilburn, Managing Director of Greyhound Stadium said: "It was wonderful to see so many people at this year's Ladies Day. Great fun was had by all – and many of the outfits were quite simply show stopping!”
