Celebrate Xmas With Hey Sholay

Fans of psychedelic infused indie boys Hey Sholay are in for a treat as they supply us with a very special Christmas show at the Library Theatre this month. This one off gig comes with support from Nintendo DS music maker HarleyLikesMusic. Dreaming of a Black Christmas

Drop The Bomb, ever controversial, is bringing the definitive pre-Christmas blowout in the style of a seventies cop show/soft-porn film. Everything that epitomises Christmas, no? Comedy Club
Where: The Beauchief

A comedy night like no other (in that your ticket includes filling up on delicious grub), The Beauchief Comedy Club is the latest addition to Sheffield’s comedy scene.
Presented by Don’t Shoot Productions Ltd and Last Laugh Comedy, the next event takes place on Saturday 1st December – with stand-up from Sam Harland, Phil Butler and Jamie Sutherland.

Irish You A Merry Christmas!

The Abbey welcomes back ‘Whiskey in the Jar,’ for a proper Christmas knees up, Irish style. Anyone put some nice gritty Blues music on their wish list this year? Then you’re on the nice list! Shakespeares presents a night of South Yorks’ best Blues talent. ‘Laurel Canyons (Formerly known as In Fear Of Olive), The Blackbirds, Emily & Benjamin will all be showcasing their blend of Deep South American rock and roll. But tales of the Mississippi Delta are few and far between, expect tales of the River Don and the deep South (Yorkshire). More info here.

Plug’s biggest and best night ‘Shuffle’ is getting all Christmassy on yo’ ass. Ok, so McNulty is actually Dominic West, but we all prefer to think of him as the hard talking cop who’s patrolling the streets of B-More. Unfortunately, he’s about to well and truly shake off that persona by starring in The Crucible’s ‘My Fair Lady,’ the all singing, all dancing tale of a chance encounter between a flower girl and a professor that changes their lives forever. Soyo Live Xmas Party

The eclectic jewel in Soyo’s crown is throwing a Christmas bash! Live art, resident dj’s, ace bands: you know the drill by now. This yuletide line up kicks off with Frazer King, followed by Screaming Maldini (our In Session stars this month, swoon) and to top it all off, The Book Club. It’s just not Christmas without a visit to Kelham Island’s Victorian Fayre. This year the event is bigger and better than ever, with over one hundred and fifty stalls to peruse and many a bonnet clad lady wandering though the Dickensian Emporium. Bonus additions include a new Santa’s grotto, so get your present list ready for the big guy!
Everly Pregnant Christmas

This will be a reyt Christmas hoedown. The Everly Pregnant Brothers bonded over a love of beer, ukuleles and having a laugh, so you know their gigs are going to be a hoot! A Queens Christmas

Queens Social Club, one of the coolest venues in town, will play host to a festive show starring Sheffield stars Slow Club, with support from Babe and Voluntary Butler Scheme. Still riding high on their astonishing second album Paradise, it’s been another great year for the Moshi Moshi-signed duo, with highlights including a beautiful, emotional video for the album’s third single ‘Beginners’, starring Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe. 2012’s Last Laugh
