EISL 17th March – Hail To The Eskimo, Hot Soles, Rita Payne

17th March – Easter's creeping up on us and we've got a real festive treat for lucky people with EiSL @ The Forum…

Hail To The Eskimo enjoy writing about life, love with a witty commentary on the mundane, accompanied by delay drenched guitars and melodic vocals. They feel comfortable in silly hats or no hats at all; even standard hats don't phrase this lot. Summoning a powerful concoction of influences without skimping on the originality, Hail To The Eskimo are one of the most exciting bands that have trodden the Forum's boards. Below is a live take of their 'Queen Of The Disco'…

On the other side of the potato, HOT SOLES play rock music lightning fast and lightning loud. One of Sheffield’s best live bands, this duo hit hard and fast with energy and fun. Influences include Aretha Franklin, The Stones, James Brown and all things Rock N Roll. They too know the power of a good hat. Here's the boys playing back at 2011's Tramlines…

After the quiet of the last two bands, comes the storm in the form of Rita Payne. Sparse instrumentation, faultless vocal harmonies and powerful hooks makes each song individual and unique. Creating a potent amalgam of blues, bluegrass, Deep South country and British folk, this band are quickly earning a great reputation. That's 17th March EiSL in a nutshell – see you then!
