EAGLES FLY BACK TO THEIR NEST
The Sheffield Eagles have signed a two year contract with their original home, Owlerton Greyhound Stadium.
The rugby league club first formed on the Hillsborough turf some 30 years ago and due to the closure of Don Valley Stadium will be returning there, kicking off when the new Championship season begins February 2014. The Owlerton venue, which seats 6,000, has been undergoing improvements to the pitch and changing rooms in anticipation of the Eagles homecoming. In the meantime The Eagles’ first team training sessions and youth matches will continue to take place at Sheffield Hallam University’s sports complex, on Bawtry Road. But to celebrate ahead of the move the team are holding a special event for both press and fans at the Owlerton Stadium. Come down to their Meet and Greet this November 13 at 6.30pm to get in on the action. For more info go here.
