Design This Car's Artwork!
Sheffield Formula Racing, in association with Hantu collective, are offering a unique opportunity to produce a piece of automotive artwork.
Here's your chance to join the likes of Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney and Andy Warhol by designing an Art Car.
Over the past year, Sheffield Formula Racing, based at the University of Sheffield, have been designing the formula-style, single seater racing car above to compete in the prestigious Formula Student competition.
This is a global contest, with events held across 4 continents and hundreds of entrants. Teams are tasked with the design and construction of a vehicle which then competes in a number of static and dynamic events.
The UK event is held at Silverstone in mid-July and attracts great attention from the world of engineering and motorsport including formula one team owners and drivers.
In an effort to make their car stand out from the crowd, Sheffield Formula Racing is offering the chance for you to design the artwork that will adorn their vehicle at Silverstone this year. Your design will be seen by the thousands of people who attend the event and top brass from the world of motorsport, along with gaining international media coverage.
To enter, simply download the images of the car here and add your design to the bodywork. There are no restrictions on what you do. Feel free to be as imaginative and expressive as you like. The body panels can be made any colour and the tubular frame can also be painted. You may produce your design using a computer based graphics package or simply print out the pictures and draw with pen and pencil.
See below for entry email and postal address. The competition is open to everyone: young, old, professional or amateur.
Entry closes on June 28th and a winner will be selected and notified by June 22nd. Hantu collective will then work with the winning designer to produce the artwork for application to the car. Additionally, the lucky designer will also be invited to attend the competition at Silverstone to see their work exhibited.
Please email entries to email@example.com.
