Blood Brothers – back by popular demand

Willy Russell’s sensational musical Blood Brothers is back by popular demand at The Lyceum Theatre Sheffield from Mon 31 January – Sat 12 February, starring popular X Factor contestant Niki Evans.

Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving story of twin boys separated at birth, only to be reunited by a twist of fate.

When Mrs Johnstone, a young mother, is deserted by her husband and left to her own devices to provide for seven hungry children, she takes a job as a housekeeper in order to make ends meet.

It is not long before her brittle world crashes around her when she discovers herself to be pregnant yet again – this time with twins!  In a moment of weakness and desperation, she enters a secret pact with her employer which leads inevitably to the show’s shattering climax.

This epic tale of Liverpool life has been running in London’s West End, since July 1988.

The incredible show-stopping music includes A Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True.

This award-winning musical scooped up no less than four awards for best musical in the West End and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway.

Niki Evans takes on the coveted role of Mrs Johnstone following her run in the West End. Evans shot to fame in 2007, reaching the X Factor semi-finals.

She first started singing at the age of thirteen and within three years, she was signed to a record label and touring as solo singer with pop stars Sonia, Lonnie Gordon, Big Fun and Yell.

She took a break from the music industry to get married and raise two children before auditioning for X Factor. Evans has released two albums since the show and cemented a career for herself as a West End star.
