Best of Exposed 2012 Part 1 – Music
With 2013 scratching at the door like an eager labradoodle, we thought it was an ideal time to look back over 2012 for an, if you will, ‘Best of’ the last year…
We’ve got a bunch of the best interviews, features and mashups from Exposed’s website and social media – featuring the meatiest chunks of music, film, games, the undead and impressions of the weather. Shall we start with some tunes?
The cold winter months are best braved in the company of indie music compadres and a sweaty ceiling-ed multi-purpose arts venue so we were made up to spend January on a website takeover with Leadmill. The highlight of an amazing trip was an exploration through four floors and thirty years of prime Sheffield music history – culminating in a look around the city’s most amazing record collection and the Marie Celeste-like one-time studio of designer Martin Bedford. Sheffield United might boast one of the country’s most beautiful terrace anthems but when Exposed arrived to cover Radio 5 Live’s 24 hour 5-a-side World Record Attempt we didn’t think it would turn out to be one of the musical highlights of the year. Then we ran into In Session stars Hot Soles and one of the most surprising – and thrilling – musical mashups of the year. Click here for more.
Footie and music can make beautiful, err, foosic(?) together tho, as our summit between the Reverend John McClure and ‘Greatest England Winger Ever’ Chris Waddle demonstrated. Covering Diamond Lights, the future of the game and some great Gazza anecdotes, it was too much for a single shot and we eventually presented it as a hat trick.Click here for part one, here for part two and here for part three.
