Be Inspired With Mark Jones…..Founder of Wall of Sound Records

A history of fifteen-plus years are proof of the spot-on instinct and unquenchable curiosity for new sounds that define Mark Jones, the founding father of Wall of Sound records. Largely responsible for putting names like Röyksopp, Propellerheads, The Bees, The Wiseguys, Les Rythmes Digitales (Stuart Price) , Blak Twang, Infadels and Shy Child on the map and for re-launching the career of the iconic Grace Jones, His recent addition of the The Human League follows another Sheffield band, Reverend and the Makers, as bands on his record label alongside new signings Aeroplane, Ocelot, Kids On Bridges.

A true pioneer in the record industry, Mark also has developed "Back to the Phuture" concept, a BBC 6 Music radio show and will be appearing at the summer music festivals including Bestival, Sonar and Vintage at Goodwood.

In his talk, Mark will tell the story of how he has built one of the most commercially successful independent labels of the last 15 years, whilst at the same time retaining its credibility. The lessons that can be learnt for other labels and recording artists and his opinions on what will it take to be successful in the music industry in the future.

The presentation and Q&A will conclude with the opportunity to network with guests over a light buffet and refreshments.
