A is for… Adventure Golf
Saturday March 24, 2pm…
After umming and ahhing over an A (An Audience with Ricky Hatton was top of the list for a while), I finally settle on Adventure Golf – which means a taxi ride up to Valley Centertainment with Exposed Web Editor Rob for a little putting action at Paradise Island!
I’m dragging him away from the Spurs/Chelsea game for this, which he’s not best chuffed about, and vows to ‘destroy’ me on the course accordingly.
Our driver Zeb takes our larking about on the journey in fine spirit and even chips in with a few suggestions of things to do during the week.
We arrive. Paradise Island is two indoor courses of jungle/sea themed putting – and it’s packed. Opting for a fetching pink ball, I tee off and manage to make par two on the first hole. Rob, however, is still getting his eye in, and takes four attempts to sink it. Smug? Me?
Turns out this was simply a small setback for Rob as he then turns on the style over the next 17 holes. Talllying up at the end annnnnd… he’s nabbed it. By two buggery points. A sporting handshake from me, some kind of victory chicken dance from him. His attempts to get everyone to now refer to him as Tiger have so far been unsuccessful.
Taxi ordered, it’s back home for bite to eat and change of garb (a suit, no less). After all, I’m attempting to cover B, C, D and E this evening. Gulp.
