A Cut Above the Rest

The flagship hair academy of esg has launched giving trainee hairdressers experience and qualifications, whilst giving customers quality and professional cuts without the steep price tag.

Training days for early 2011 have been organised by Paul Hood, founder of Styletech and Artistic Director at Wahl. Celebrity hairdressers Lee Stafford and Anne Veck have been taken on board to help and supervise the trainees alongside other professionals.

Liam Doyle who visited the academy for a cut said: “It’s the best haircut I've ever had! I was blown away by the high level of knowledge the trainers and learners had on current styles and the technicalities of all things hair.”

Even though the trainees gain an NVQ and money, the academy voices esg’s own agenda which is not to gain profit but to create “long term value, investing in the quality of services and the community it operates.”

The academy is located on 27 Mowbray Street and opening hours are from 9.30am till 4.30pm on Monday to Tuesday and Wednesday till 6.30pm. Prices range from £5 to £10.
