Warp Films’ newest limited series The Unheard will see Kate Winslet and Maxine Peake play sisters on the run. The five-part series was announced at the Edinburgh TV festival by Anne Mensah, Netflix head of U.K content, during a panel.
Written by Jack Thorne who co-created Adolescence, The Unheard follows two sisters who flee after a vengeance act goes wrong. Thorne says that through the series, we’ll find ourselves asking what pushed them to this reckless act, and was it ever their intention to get away with it?
The Sheffield based production company has previously released award-winning series’ such as Adolescence and This is England. The Unheard will be produced alongside Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham’s Matriarch Productions, with Winslet participating individually as an executive producer.
Filming is set to begin in 2027 and though no filming location has been confirmed as of yet, we’ll be keeping an eye on Sheffield for two suspicious sisters looking for an out.
