City centre watering hole wins top gong at Best Bar None Awards

 

Henry’s was the big winner last night at Sheffield’s Best Bar None awards.

The Cambridge Street venue was not only crowned Best Pub for the second successive year but also took the overall winner’s prize for the first time.

Mark Simmonite, owner of Henry’s told Exposed: “It feels fantastic because we put a hell of a lot of work in. There was a lot more competition this year so we've really upped our game and added a few little innovations. Sometimes its the little things that make a difference…”

The lavish ceremony, which took place at City Hall, aims to promote and encourage the responsible management of licensed premises in order to reduce the risk of alcohol related harm, disorder and crime within the city centre.

Almost fifty venues were accredited this year, which for the first time included establishments on Ecclesall Road, as well as in the city centre. The winners were as follows:

Best Pub:

Runner up: The Red House

Winner: Henry’s

Best Bar

Runner up: Bar Phoenix

Winner: Lava Lounge

Best Club

Runner up: Embrace

Winner: The Hubs

Best Restaurant

Runner up: Aagrah

Winner: Silversmiths

Best Behind The Bar (voted for by Exposed readers)
