I came to Sheffield in the late 70's as a university student and I've lived here ever since. Back then my main ambition was to join the entertainment committee (they put the bands on), and I've been going to see bands in Sheffield and beyond for as long as I've lived in the city.
From the Arctic Monkeys at the Leadmill all the way back to Talking Heads in the Lower Refectory, my tastes in music are broad, and I’ve been writing about music since the days of the much missed Sandman magazine (‘the NME of the North’). Now I’ve been asked to start Exposed magazine’s music blog.
My aim is to tell you about my thoughts on the Sheffield music scene - obviously - but also to get something over of my passion for new, yet-to-be-discovered music. It’s all out there, and if you’d care to follow me up the narrow stairs, I hope you will be pleasantly surprised by what we discover together. I can’t promise it will all be good, but I hope it will all be interesting.
