Tramlines Gets Exposed: Bang Bang Romeo
Delivering a hybrid of 60s rock & roll grit and gloomy atmospheric soundscapes, female fronted Bang Bang Romeo are certainly one to watch. Described previously as “ a hard edged Fleetwood Mac”, the band succeed in blending the sound of vintage and contemporary rock & roll.
In September 2010, the four piece dropped their first EP ‘Little Love’, a release that helped to thrust the band into the public’s consciousness and bring attention to vocalist Anastasia Walker’s genius. The band have since performed alongside the likes of This Feeling and The Dexters, as well headlining a string of shows across the country. In early 2014, the band teamed up with Rolling Stones and Duran Duran producer Chris Kimsey, to produce their second EP ‘We Were Born’, which received critical acclaim. Debut album ‘Divided Together’ followed, expanding the bands sound and being compared by critics to the likes of The XX and The Gossip.
The year marks the quartets second appearance at Tramlines festival and guarantees not to disappoint. You can check out their 2013 In Session performance of the chillingly beautiful ‘Carnival’, which is taken from their ‘We Were Born’ EP.
