Picture House Social, Monday 15th August
A warm up show ahead of the release of their new album One Day All of This Won’t Matter Any More (out on August 19), this gig sold out in mere minutes online, but there are 50 tickets available on the door. If you’ve been hankering after some new material since the success of previous album I Swam Out To Greet You, make sure you get down early to witness something special from the soulful Sheffield duo.
Leopold Square, Friday 19th August
Acoustic duo Sooze Tooze and Vanessa Johnson will ease patrons of Leopold Square into the weekend with an acoustic set of recognisable pop classics.
Plug, Friday 19th August
Part of the Sheffield City of Makers, this pioneering electronic music event will bring together world renowned artists and makers including the likes of Mark Fell + Okkyung Lee, Yaxu + Cárdenas and CPSmith (DJ set).
The Leadmill, Saturday 20th August
A showcase of three up and coming acts, with uplifting electronica from Factory Reasons, synths and samples from Limit Break and the unique sound of HarleyLikesMusic, champion of the Nintendo DS.
Corporation, Monday 22nd August
Melodic death metal Swedish supergroup Arch Enemy will tear Corporation a new one next Monday with material from latest album War Eternal amongst old favourites. Founder and guitarist Michael Amott says: “The greatest challenge for me is to keep improving every aspect of the compositions and arrangements, I’m always searching for ‘the perfect ARCH ENEMY song.’
