Reel Femme film night promotes female film-making in Sheffield

The Reel Femme film night is set to showcase a selection of short films made by female film-makers on the theme of travel and space, and will be shown at DINA on Cambridge Street, 12th July.

Reel Femme creators Zoe Kinross and Jenny Richards were inspired by a similar event in London, and wanted women film-makers from across the UK to have an outlet to present their work, who would otherwise be under represented in the film-industry.

The night hopes to fundraise for VIDA, a Sheffield-based woman’s organisation dedicated to raising awareness of domestic and sexual abuse issues. While the night is free to attend, Reel Femme creators encourage donations of £3 to help the charity.

Previous movie nights from Reel Femme have featured movies focusing on the theme of love and sex, with each night exploring even more themes.
