Silversmiths
Whilst Gordon Ramsay may have physically departed Silversmiths, his spirit is still well and truly there.
Situated on Arundel Street, Silversmiths is a bar/restaurant that now effortlessly oozes class right through the board - offering visitors top level surroundings, drinks and cuisine, at prices that represent incredible value.
We’re here on a Thursday for their new Chef’s Special menu... and it’s rammed.
The Food
Three courses are offered for a jaw-dropping £15. Two starters, three mains, and two desserts are available - so while it might not suit those looking for variety, you certainly can’t fault the price or the quality of food on offer.
The menu is seasonal, changing every few weeks to ensure only the freshest ingredients are used.
We’re offered their cocktail of the day, an Arundel Collins (named after the area by Ramsay himself) as an appetiser. It’s made with fresh pears and whets the palette beautifully.
Starters of Mozzarella with roast courgettes and oregano dressing, along with a truly delicious fresh seared salmon on a bed of grilled corn salad follow.
Tender Pan Fried Haddock with apricot, orange and spring couscous topped with a Yorkshire radish salad and a roast aubergine bake serve as our mains - both couldn’t be faulted, with high praise going to the incredibly flavoured couscous.
Moreish limoncello summer fruits trifle and a selection of Lacey’s Yorkshire cheeses with amazing homemade spiced apple chutney conclude the feast.
The Verdict
It’s genuinley pleasing to see Silversmiths doing so well. Great people, impeccable service, and stunning food and drink. They’ve got it nailed. Get involved.
