We’re here for ‘The Full House Experience which costs £30pp and included a drink at the bar, three course meal, gaming tuition in blackjack and roulette, a £5 gaming chip, £5 slot coucher and £10 internet gaming voucher. Bargain, eh?

The Food

We opt for the game pate and prawn cocktail to start. The pate was served with lovely crusty bread and red onion marmalade which complemented it beautifully. Both starters were well presented and impressive both to the eye and palate.

For my main I chose the crispy duck basted in plum sauce which was served with ginger, pak choi and noodles. My partner went for the 8oz rump steak, medium rare, served with tomatoes, chips and field mushrooms. The former burst with flavour, the latter was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. Syrup sponge with custard and the chocolate torte rounded off the feast impeccably.

After letting our meal settle, we were led to the gaming tuition table where a cheerful looking chap showed us all the ins and outs of the roulette table (he even let my partner have ago at spinning the wheel).

After this we were ready to go. First we headed for the gaming machines and played electronic roulette using our free vouchers (each machine reflects the games played at each table, it just allows you to gamble more privately, and place bets as little as 20p).

After this we proceeded to the actual roulette tables and, after a bit of a flutter on red or black, I was happy to leave the table £10 up!

The Verdict

In addition to the meal and gambling, to top the night off there was live music from Amy Winehouse and Lady Gaga impersonator Nicola Marie. She was brilliant, especially as Lady Gaga, and really took on the persona to the full. A truly fantastic evening. Thoroughly recommended.
