Summer Skirts
The easiest piece for summer? The humble skirt, says Exposed fashion blogger Kate.
I don’t know why my total love of skirts has taken until now to really blossom, but I think maybe I’ve been overlooking them in favour of dresses. For the last couple of years I’ve had a thing about really classy vintage dresses worn below the knee with wedges or high-heels.
But I’m moving on. It’s now all about the skater skirt for me – at least for the moment. Worn with flats and a simple plain tee, I’ve hoarding mini skirts this summer – not least because I got fed up of high-heels ravaging my feet!
Skirts, on the other hand, are so easy to style with sandals or ballet pumps when the weather is forgiving. I love how easy it is to roll out of bed and turn to one of my favourite skirts for a casual summer look that leaves time for breakfast.
I have worn this blue Topshop one non-stop since picking it up in a charity shop – it was one of those “maybe” buys, and yet, it’s quickly become a favourite. I wear it with either a black or white tee tucked in, styled with my favourite scarf. And definitely with my Hush Puppies sandals – my feet deserve a rest!
