Overlooked

Located within the former Scottish Queen pub on the iconic Park Hill estate, Overlooked is the inaugural exhibition of a new 12 month arts programme.

Through exploring marginal places, liminal city spaces and the unseen urban places, the exhibition showcases five contemporary Sheffield based artists. Realist painter Andy Cropper captures the unobserved every day and observational artist Mandy Payne focuses on recreating the Park Hill estate, using materials integral to the estate itself including concrete and aerosol spray paint. Conor Rogers showcases his photo-realistic style of work with commonplace objects and Jane Walker portrays the cityscape in a series of abstract compositions. Also showcased will be Sean Williams’ paintings, which focus on the fringes of suburbia, rounding off an enormously diverse collection of work which utilises the language of landscape to create emotional tension and narrative.
